BUDGET AMENDMENT - CBA EXPANSION FUNDS <br /> To amend the 1986-87 Budget Ordinance by the following change: <br /> GENERAL FUND <br /> Appropriation - Dispute Settlement Center $ 6, 397.10 <br /> Appropriation - Project Attend 1,999.00 <br /> Appropriation - Phillips/Culbreth Project 4, 290,90 <br /> Appropriation - orange County 4-H 1,100.00 <br /> Appropriation - Adolescent Day Treatment 1,221.00 <br /> Source - Community Based Alternatives $ 15, 008 . 00 <br /> 7. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION - INCREASE IN EX-OFFICIO MEMBERS <br /> To approve the following amendment to the Resolution which created <br /> the Orange County Economic Development Commission dated December 14, 1982 : <br /> "That the Executive Director of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chamber <br /> of Commerce and the Executive Director of the Hillsborough Area Chamber of <br /> Commerce be ex-officio, non-voting members of the Commission. " <br /> 8. SET PUBLIC HEARING DATE FOR FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE <br /> REVISIONS <br /> To set the public hearing for the Flood Damage Prevention <br /> Ordinance revisions for February 23, 1987. The Planning Board will make <br /> its recommendation on the Ordinance on March 10, 1987. Board of Commis- <br /> sioners action will be on March 24, 1987. <br /> Motion was made by commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Halkiotis to approve items 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the consent agenda. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> F. ITEMS FOR DECISION - REGULAR AGENDA <br /> 7. REVALUATION OF REAL PROPERTY AS OF JANUARY 14 , 1987 <br /> Chair Marshall expressed the concern that the tax listing showed <br /> an evaluation amount that may be mistaken as the final evaluation. She <br /> inquired about the printed information on the card sent to the property <br /> owner notifying them of the new evaluation amount and asked if the card <br /> included information on the appeal process. <br /> Tax Supervisor Kermit Lloyd informed the Board that all notices <br /> of value will be sent out by the end of February except for new <br /> construction that took place in 1986 and some of the land splits that <br /> happened at the end of 1986. He noted that the cards are sent out in <br /> batches to enable his department to handle the inquiries as they are <br /> received. All letters are answered within three days. For those citizens <br /> who have a problem with the valuation he explains the appeals procedure to <br /> them. He explained that the notice of value is the official notice and <br /> not the amount that is shown on the tax listing. <br /> 46'0 Commissioner Halkiotis suggested that in the future the appeal <br /> procedure be printed on the card. <br /> The Board members asked that they have an opportunity to review <br /> the form for any future mailings. . <br /> la. BID AWARD - AMBULANCE REPLACEMENT (see permanent agenda file for a <br /> copy of the letter from Chief deFriess) <br /> Mr. Ray deFriess, Chief of the South Orange Rescue Squad, introduced a <br /> letter and spoke in favor of the County awarding the bid for the purchase <br /> of a Type II ambulance to Southeastern Emergency Equipment. He indicated <br /> the service record for the Frontline (the make of ambulance offered by <br /> Southeastern in its bid) is superior and the vehicle is similar to those <br /> that are presently in service making it easy to correct electrical <br /> problems and easier for volunteers to use the ambulance.
