3 <br /> • Smart Start Enhancement Program — receipt of $247,500- to continue <br /> administering the Smart Start Subsidized Child Care program. These <br /> enhancement funds will be paid directly to child care providers. <br /> • Work First — receipt of additional funds totaling $120,000 for program <br /> administration. Funds will provide transportation for Work First clients; aid in <br /> record transition to the new NC Families Accessing Services through <br /> Technology Program (NC FAST); and provide IT equipment for field workers in <br /> Orange County Schools. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br /> Attachment 1, column 3) <br /> • General Assistance Donations — donations of$15,000, from Orange County <br /> residents, for the special needs of clients, including seniors, throughout the <br /> year. These funds are budgeted in a special-Adoption Enhancement Fund, <br /> outside of the General Fund. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board of County Commissioners <br /> approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2012-13. <br />
