RepoRrtNnmORK OBSERVATION T REPORT Irerracon <br /> Service Date: 10/06/12 5240 Green's Dairy Road <br /> Report Date: 10/08/12 Raleigh,NC 27616 <br /> 919-873-2211 <br /> Client Project <br /> Orange County,NC Walnut Grove CC Expansion <br /> Attn:Jeff Thompson NC Hwy 86&Walnut Grove Ch.Rd. <br /> 200 South Cameron Street Cedar Grove,NC <br /> Hillsborough,NC 27278 <br /> Project Number: 70121071 <br /> Services Requested By: Carey with WL Bishop <br /> Excavation Contractor: Martin&Loftis Clearing <br /> Observed Locatiou(s) Exit road <br /> Excavated Material Description: Unsuitable soil consisting of soft and wet clay. <br /> Exposed Subgrade Review: The exposed subgrade was not observed to be firm and stable. <br /> Additional Comments: Soft and wet material was observed in the exit road subgrade at depths of 2'to 4'. Contractor placed a <br /> 2'bridge lift in the undercut areas using on site rocky material and compacting using a sheepsfoot <br /> vibratory roller. Contractor will place fill in this area at depths ranging from 6'to 13'. Contractor is <br /> ripping the material but some particles are larger than 4".It was recommended that particles larger <br /> than 4"not be placed in the upper 2' of subgrade.The areas of undercut measured 30'x 14'x 2',35'x <br /> 22'x 2',60'x 30'x 2'and 35'x 8'x 4'. <br /> Terracon is providing undercut quantities for information only.
