That <br /> process resulted in the signmg by the three parties of an interlocal agreement under which � <br /> Orange Counfy witi exercise overall resporzsibilify for the future managemerrt of so[id waste in <br /> Orange Gounfy. One of the provisions of that agreement inciuded the rezoning of a 60-acre <br /> portian af the Greene Tract to make permissibie, under zoning regutations, certain solid waste <br /> managemer�t a�es. The Board of Commissioners at their February 29 meeting decided tv <br /> withdraw the request.for that rezoning. and directed the Manager and Attomey to develop <br /> suggested ctianges to ifie approved interlocal agreement that would be needed as a resutt af <br /> tha�E decision. The target date far assumption by the CouMy of overap sofid waste management <br /> authority was adjusted from March 20 to April 17, 2000. The addifionai time was intended to <br /> alirnnr the parties fio agree ta amendmeMs to the inierlocai agreement and on the eacact <br /> defineation of the 6C1-acre portion of the Gre�ne Tract._ <br /> The Board commissioned iwo surveys of the errtire Greene Tract to infarm the decision abaut <br /> which 60 acres shauld be iransferred to the County. A final report on the cutturaV <br /> archaeological resoun�:s on the property, and an interim report on the biologicaUenvironmental <br /> resources� were considered by the Board in fiheir February 29 deiiberations.
