� 105 <br /> The group focused on finding elementary school sites for elementary num.ber 11 and 12 as <br /> both are need ed in a 10-year window.The need for upper grade sites was also reviewed. <br /> Middle school number 5 is already sited at the Morris GrovelTwin Creek site and additional <br /> high school capacity will be added at Cazrboro Hi�h Schoal,thus the search focused on <br /> elementary sites. � . <br /> The group was charged with the task of idenfafying any p�tential school site that shou.ld be <br /> reviewed further for consideration.The parameters for fihe search included.the following: <br /> • A minimum of seven acres � <br /> • Slopes less than 15% <br /> • Within the Urban Services Boun.dary . <br /> • Not in the watershed <br /> . Not in the Rural Buffer <br /> • Mana.geable Resource Conservation Districts <br /> Combina.tion of different parcels to meet the parcel requirements was allowed.and if <br /> structures elcisted on the site,their value was considered. <br /> The group developed a list of potential sites that was then reseazched further to provide <br /> additional informa.tion for consideration. This informatian included the following: <br /> • Accessibility to utilities <br /> • More highly delineated Resovrce Conservation Disfricts <br /> • Proximity to existing schools <br /> • Potential land acquisition costs <br /> At the end of that review, several azeas for potential sites were develaped.. Those azeas <br /> identified were the following: , <br /> • Eubanks and Martin Luther King Blvd <br /> • Homestead Road and Seawell School Road <br /> • I-40 corridor,including Erwin Road <br /> • Greene Tract � <br /> • Cazolina North � <br /> • OId Highway 86 ` <br /> • M� Carmel�toad <br /> This information was then shazed with the entire Long R.ange Facilities Committee starting in <br /> December 7, 2007 and concluding with their March 31,2008 meeti.ng.Additiorial input was <br /> solicited from The Rogers Road Task Force and other governmen.tal bodies within the <br /> county. <br /> The map on the ne�page illu.strates the general location of the sites reviewed.Please note <br /> that specific locations are not provided.for sites not under current consideration but areas aze <br /> �provided to infarni the Board of the wide range of sites explored. <br /> Three sites ha.ve been iden.tified.for further review and a fourth site is still being researched, <br /> The fourth site is privately owned and conversations with the owner will be underta.ken by <br /> the County.
