The Environment and Resource Conservation Department recently received a Historic Preservation <br /> Grant from the State. The grant, totaling $4,000, will offset costs of the Saint Mary's Road Corridor <br /> Study. (See column #1 of the Budget As Amended Spreadsheet) <br /> Arts Commission <br /> 2. The Orange County Arts Commission recently received its annual allocation from the State for the <br /> Grass Roots Arts Program. The actual amount of the grant was $10,649 more than anticipated <br /> during the budget process last spring. This amendment reflects the receipt of the additional monies. <br /> (See column #2 of the Budget As Amended Spreadsheet) <br /> Orange County Library <br /> 3. On November 16, 1999, the Board of Commissioners accepted a Smart Start grant on behalf of the <br /> Orange County Library. The $10,226 grant provides funding to purchase materials and provide <br /> services for the Traveling Treasures Program. Through this program, the Library will partner with the <br /> Orange County School system and local Hispanic community leaders to provide bilingual library <br /> materials and services to Hispanic preschoolers living in northern Orange County. (See attached <br /> Smart Start Grant Project Ordinance). <br />
