4) Sent a memorandum from the Manager's Office to the Joint Planning Partners <br />informing them of the scope and intent of the ASE program and soliciting input. Staff <br />will fallow up on the memorandum and request a meeting with planning <br />representatives to discuss the implications of the program. <br />He said that there is a process and a number of steps must be taken. The steps are as <br />follows: <br />1) Multi-departmental ASE workgroup <br />2) Land Use Plan Text (pending) <br />3} Land Use Plan Map (pending) <br />4) Zoning Text (pending) <br />5} Zoning Atlas/Map (pending) <br />6) Petitioner Application (pending) <br />The staff is asking the Board to charge the staff to continue with these efforts and <br />complete work on the proposed amendments to the Land Use Element and Zoning Ordinance, <br />as well as the ASE User Manual, far presentation at a later BOCC meeting. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that the last time this was discussed with the Planning <br />Board, the staff was working on a list of proposed uses along with some performance <br />standards, and this was supposed to came back to the County Commissioners. She would like <br />the proposed uses and standards to come back to the County Commissioners as soon as <br />possible and not after everything else is completed. She would like to see what staff is <br />proposing for the permitted uses. <br />Michael Harvey said that this is the intent of the work group. <br />Commissioner Jacobs said that he would like to see the concept on the Assembly of <br />Governments meeting agenda as an informational item. He wants to keep partners informed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Foushee to <br />authorize staff to continue with their efforts to complete the ASE User Manual and bring it, with <br />the list of proposed permitted uses and performance standards, back for presentation to the <br />County Commissioners, and after that presentation is completed, also to authorize staff to <br />continue with their efforts to complete work on the proposed amendments to the Land Use <br />Element and Zoning Ordinance for presentation to the BOCC at a future meeting. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />2.
