L Defibrillator Maintenance and Support Contract
The Board considered entering into a continuation contract for annual maintenance and
support of equipment used as part of the County's Emergency Medical preparedness and
response activities and authorizing the Purchasing and Central Services Director to sign upon
review by the County Attorney.
Commissioner Jacobs said that it was not clear whether this was a comprehensive list or
just examples of places where there are defibrillators. He asked if the Link Center had one and
he would like to put up signs in buildings indicating that there are defibrillators on the premises.
Interim Emergency Services Director Kent McKenzie said that this is not a
comprehensive list. He is not aware of a defibrillator in the Link Center.
Laura Blackmon said that not all buildings have these. Commissioner Jacobs said to put
a sign in the buildings where there is one and to have a standardized way of making sure that
the public facilities with a certain number of people working there or where there are public
meetings have defibrillators.
A motion was made by Commissioner Foushee, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to
approve entering into a continuation contract for annual maintenance and support of equipment
used as part of the County's Emergency Medical preparedness and response activities and
authorize the Purchasing and Central Services Director to sign upon review by the County
Attorney.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
m.
