County Manaqer's Report <br /> Frank Clifton said that the Council of State for N.C. approved the authorization between <br /> Orange County and the State of North Carolina's Department of Public Safety for the siting of <br /> a future jail along Old NC 86 next to the State prison. The legislative delegation and others <br /> assisted with this. <br /> 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> NONE <br /> 11. Appointments-NONE <br /> 12. Board Comments <br /> Commissioner Gordon — none <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz— none <br /> Commissioner McKee — none <br /> Commissioner Hemminger said that Community Home Trust had the Open Doors event <br /> and raised $33,000. This is an increase from last year. Also, Triangle J Council of <br /> Governments is changing the way it does business to allow for more social interaction and <br /> exchanging of information and ideas. <br /> Commissioner Foushee — none <br /> Commissioner Jacobs pointed out to the public that the County is currently conducting <br /> three different surveys for citizens: library services, parks and recreation, and smoking. These <br /> surveys can be accessed on the County website. <br /> Chair Pelissier asked for two volunteers to be on the Retreat Planning Committee. <br /> Commissioner McKee volunteered. Commissioner Jacobs and Commissioner Gordon also <br /> volunteered but since the committee only needs one more it was decided that these two <br /> commissioners would discuss/decide which one would serve and send that information to the <br /> Clerk by the end of the week. ( BOCC Candidate Mark Dorosin has also volunteered to serve <br /> on this committee and Commissioner Jacobs was chosen to be the other Commissioner <br /> volunteer). <br /> 13.
