Animal Services Facility Plan Approval <br />The Board considered approving plans for the Animal Services facility to be constructed <br />on Eubanks Road on property adjacent to the Orange County Landfill. <br />Purchasing and Central Services Director Pam Janes said that the Board last saw this in <br />February and the planning group has been working on this diligently. The Town has been <br />holding to its promise to move it through the regulatory process quickly. The project will <br />hopefully start in the late fall or early winter to be completed by December 2008. The University <br />has asked the County to vacate the current animal shelter by this time. The plan on this agenda <br />must be approved before the summer break so that staff can work on it over the summer. Also, <br />over the summer the staff will be looking at the construction manager at risk and bringing <br />forward a contract after the break. <br />Ellen Weinstein from Dixon-Weinstein Architects made the presentation. She was joined <br />by Jim Compton and David Stoops.
