74 <br /> Article 6: Development Standards <br /> Section 6.4: Performance Standards <br /> Residential development of all types and <br /> schoolss' 45-50 68 60 <br /> Commercial, including office,service,and retail 5565 08 70 <br /> Light industrial,including distribution and 65 68-75 <br /> warehousing facilities <br /> (2) Mitigation <br /> (a) Where proposed land development does not meet the maximum <br /> permitted nose levels because of the nature of or equipment used in the <br /> operation, design features, such as the following, may be included as <br /> part of the site plan and may be utilized to insure that noise levels fall <br /> within the range permitted by these performance standards: <br /> (i) A 100-foot landscaped buffer at the boundary of the Economic <br /> Development District, may result in 3-5 decibel reductions in <br /> noise levels. <br /> (ii) The use of existing topographic conditions or modifying the <br /> topography to provide barriers to noise. <br /> (iii) Locating noise-producing equipment and/or activities within a <br /> building or elsewhere on the site. <br /> (b) Design features used to mitigate noise factors must be clearly identified <br /> on the site plan. <br /> (c) Applicants must provide documentation of the source and level of noise, <br /> and the specific manner in which the design feature will reduce the noise <br /> to acceptable levels. <br /> 6.4.4 Vibration <br /> (A) General Standards <br /> (1) The instrument used to measure vibrations shall be a three component <br /> measuring system capable of simultaneous measurement of vibration in three <br /> mutually perpendicular directions. <br /> (2) The maximum velocity shall be the sum of the three components. <br /> (3) The vibration maximums set forth in Tables 6.4.43&6.4.4.0 are stated in terms <br /> of particle velocity, which may be measured directly with suitable instrumentation <br /> or computed on the basis of displacement frequency.
