Approved 11/8/2012 RES-2012-095 <br /> .5 9 <br /> RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br /> ORANGE COUNTY,NORTH CAROLINA <br /> The following resolution was offered by and seconded by <br /> and upon being put to a vote was carried -0 on the $ day of <br /> N 01 L <br /> THAT WHEREAS, it is recognized that the proper movement of travel within and through <br /> the Burlington-Graham urbanized area is highly desirable element of a comprehensive plan for the <br /> orderly growth and development of the area,and; <br /> WHEREAS, there are a number of governmental jurisdictions within the Burlington- <br /> Graham urbanized area which have been authorized with implementation and regulatory <br /> responsibilities for transportation by North Carolina General Statutes,and; <br /> WHEREAS, it is desirable that coordinated, comprehensive and cooperative transportation <br /> planning processes be maintained in the Burlington-Graham urbanized area to insure that the <br /> transportation system is maintained on an efficient and economical basis commensurate with the <br /> public health, safety and welfare,and; <br /> WHEREAS, a revised Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Burlington,City <br /> of Graham, Town of Elon, Town of Gibsonville, City of Mebane, Town of Haw River, Town of <br /> Whitsett, Town of Green Level, Village of Alamance, Alamance County, Guilford County, Orange <br /> County, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation has been prepared that sets forth the <br /> responsibilities and working arrangements for maintaining a continuing, comprehensive and <br /> cooperative transportation planning process,and; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br /> ORANGE COUNTY,NORTH CAROLINA: <br /> That the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Burlington, City of Graham, <br /> Town of Elon, Town of Gibsonville, City of Mebane, Town of Haw River, Town of Whitsett,Town <br /> of Green Level,Village of Alamance, Alamance County, Guilford County, Orange County, and the <br /> North Carolina Department of Transportation, Agreement Number 8-21-12, be approved and that <br /> the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners and the County Clerk are hereby directed to <br /> execute the Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> I, nr44ta3 Bk4f,-Clerk of Orange County,North Carolina, do hereby certify that the <br /> above is true and correct copy of excerpts from the minutes of the Board of Commissioners of said <br /> County. <br /> WITNESS my hand and the official seal of Orange County thi c4 c t C� f Irwwa-, <br /> AT-TEST <br /> 17 52 <br /> 4WdCounty Clerk <br /> orth COG <br />
