The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge.
2. Public Comments
a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda
Raymond Woodard spoke about CERT training -Community Emergency Response
Teams. He said that this is a program where community members join with neighbors to get
training in case of an emergency. He said that we cannot always depend on the government to
be there exactly when we need them. He said that he got involved in this program because he
was in front of the Board of County Commissioners several months ago when it honored
volunteerism and he was part of the amateur radio community. He got involved because he
saw this as another opportunity to serve and he thought it would be good to have some more
skills other than operating a radio. He thinks that it would be a plus for people in the community
to get involved in CERT training.
Michael Buck said that the Board made his suggestion moot by moving the location of
the budget public hearing.
b.
