<br />Speedway Operations Manager Kim Foushee thanked the staff for assisting them in <br />reducing the costs of running the speedway. She said that she is intrigued and excited about <br />the 15% reduction in fees, but she would not have heard this information if she had not attended <br />this meeting tonight. She said that she just heard about this meeting last night by chance. She <br />said that she will look at the numbers. <br />Speedway owner Vance Agee said that they have been communicating with staff and he <br />and Kim Foushee would like to have a follow up meeting with staff to finalize this. <br />Chair Carey asked about the next steps and Kim Foushee said that they are still doing <br />research on same items and she would like the Board to defer this decision. <br />Laura Blackmon apologized and said that she thought staff had time to meet with the <br />speedway representatives since this was discussed a few weeks ago. She proposed putting <br />this on the April 24t" agenda. <br />Chair Carey asked about any time constraints and Vance Agee said that there is a race <br />on April 21St <br />Commissioner Jacobs asked about an existing contract and Kent McKenzie said that the <br />speedway has been charged for the services that are based on the fee schedule adopted last <br />year as part of the budget. There is no contract. He said that part of the recommendation is <br />that any changes made to the fee schedule would be applied retroactively far the entire racing <br />season. <br />Geof Gledhill said that the speedway would be charged based on the current fee <br />structure, and if this contract or something similar were adopted, it would be adjusted <br />retroactively. <br />Laura Blackmon pointed out that the hours of coverage have already been reduced. <br />Commissioner Jacobs thanked staff for working with the speedway proactively. <br />DEFERRED until April 24t" <br />d.
