Project Updates <br /> • CHCCS Elementary School #9 Update <br /> The Commissioners and CHCCS Board of Education have agreed that the <br /> site for Elementary School #9 is at the donated Meadowmont site. To <br /> date, the Commissioners have approved funding for the following phases <br /> of this particular project: <br /> Approved <br /> Phase Funding <br /> Concept/Pre-Planning Phase (Approved by BOCC 12/06/01) <br /> Schematic Design $107,184 <br /> Town Approval Process $25,000 <br /> Total Concept/Pre-Planning Phase $132,184 <br /> Planning Phase (Approved by BOCC 3/06/01) <br /> Design Development $142,911 <br /> Town Approval Process $72,000 <br /> Construction Documents $225,367 <br /> Total Planning Phase $440,278 <br /> Total BOCC Approved Funding For Elementary <br /> #9 Located at Meadowmont $572,462 <br /> Funding for these initial phases has come from pay-as-you-go funds such <br /> as savings from the Smith Middle School Construction project and an <br /> appropriation from the School Capital Fund Balance. <br /> The next approval phase for the Commissioners is the Design and <br /> Construction Approval Phase. Funding for this phase would come from <br /> the November 6 bond proceeds. <br /> • CHCCS Elementary School #10 Update <br /> Also included on the November 6 bond referendum for CHCCS are funds <br /> to plan and construct Elementary School #10. A potential site for this <br /> facility is the Eubanks Road/Old Highway 86 property that the County <br /> recently purchased. <br /> The Commissioners appointed an internal work group to consider and <br /> evaluate the potential opportunities of the 193-acre Eubanks Road/Old <br /> Highway 86 site and discuss a process for master site planning and <br /> development. The work group consists of Commissioners Brown and <br /> Gordon, County Manager, John Link, and Environment Resource <br /> Conservation Director David Stancil. <br /> Attachment 1f-4 provides a suggested outline of the master plan process <br /> for the Chapel Hill Township Park and Educational Campus. The outline <br /> proposes that the work group could share its initial findings and thoughts <br />
