This three-year project, funded by the Kate B. Reynolds Foundation, <br /> ended June 30, 1997. Due to the success of the Program, UNC Hospitals proposed to fund the <br /> Wellness Coordinator position through contractual agreement with Orange County. This has <br /> will continue to maintain existing programs and assist implementing new programs to promote <br /> the health and well being of seniors in the County. The United Way will also continue to provide <br /> operating expense support for this public/private partnership. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There are no County funds associated with this program. Funding, up to <br /> $47,910 for salary and benefits, for the Senior Public Health Educator is provided by UNC <br /> Hospitals. United Way funds and class fees cover the operating expenses of the program. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends approval of the Agreement renewal <br /> between UNC Hospitals and Orange County for the continuation of the Wellness Program and <br /> that the Chair be authorized to sign the Agreement renewal. <br />
