The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Alex Zaffron and duly seconded <br /> by Alderman Diana McDuffee. <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE "WATER AND SEWER MANAGEMENT, <br /> PLANNING AND BOUNDARY AGREEMENT" <br /> Resolution No. 178/1999-2000 <br /> WHEREAS, the elected boards of Orange County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and <br /> Hillsborough and the appointed Orange Water and Sewer Authority created a Water and <br /> Sewer Boundary Task Force in April of 1994; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Task Force has completed its work and requests consideration by the <br /> Carrboro Board of Aldermen; <br /> WHEREAS, the Water and Sewer Boundary map should be modified to reflect the <br /> existing OWASA long-term service area by including the Rangewood Subdivision and <br /> the Heritage Hills Subdivision; <br /> WHEREAS it is desirable that the process (provided for on page 4 under section"H") for <br /> linking the Water and Sewer Boundary Agreement with the Joint Planning Agreement be <br /> clarified by the County Attorney. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carrboro Board of Aldermen that: <br /> 1. The "WATER AND SEWER MANAGEMENT, PLANNING AND <br /> BOUNDARY AGREEMENT" is hereby adopted with the following <br /> amendment: <br /> a. That Section VI.F. be amended to reflect that the text <br /> "Recognizing the land use implication of public water and public <br /> sewer service in adjacent counties on jurisdictions within Orange <br /> County," b'be deleted and the section read,"Water and sewer service <br /> of any of the service providers....." <br /> 2. The Mayor of the Town of Carrboro is authorized .to sign the agreement <br /> on behalf of the Town provided that the water and sewer map is modified <br /> to reflect OWASA's existing service area and that clarification is received <br /> from Orange County with regard to the process for linking the Water and <br /> Sewer Boundary Agreement with the Joint Planning Agreement. <br /> The foregoing resolution, having been submitted to a vote, received the following vote <br /> and was duly adopted this 27h day of June, 2000. <br /> AYES: Alex Zaffron,Michael Nelson, Diana McDuffee <br /> NOES: Mark Dorosin <br /> ABSENT/EXCUSED: Joal Hall Broun, Jacquelyn Gist,Allen Spalt <br />
