October 3, 2001 Planning Board Minutes Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider proposed amendments to Orange County Subdivision Regulations <br /> Section IV-B-10 D.4, Flexible Development Street Standards. <br /> These are not new changes, but a re-editing of a separate section of the subdivision <br /> regulations to conform to what was previously adopted. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Board of County Commissioners, on October 10, <br /> 2000, adopted amendments to the Orange County Subdivision Regulations, Appendix A <br /> Orange County Private Road Standards, to reduce the number of lots on a private road from <br /> 25 to 12; eliminate the class C private road provision; and to reduce the number of lots on a <br /> class B private road from 9 to 5. Street standards (Subsection DA) in Section IV-B-10 <br /> Flexible Development that mimic language in the Orange County Private Road Standards are <br /> now not consistent with the newly adopted amendments. Proposed amendments (page 2) <br /> will make Section IV-B-10 DA consistent with Appendix A Orange County Private Road <br /> Standards. <br /> Planning staff presented the proposed amendments on September 27, 2001 at a joint public <br /> hearing before the Orange County Board of County Commissioners and the Orange County <br /> Planning Board. The Board of County Commissioners referred the amendments,to the <br /> Planning Board for its recommendation. The Planning Board considered the proposed <br /> amendments at its meeting on October 3, 2001, and voted unanimously to recommend that <br /> the Board of County Commissioners adopt the amendments. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no immediate financial impact associated with this <br /> decision item. <br />
