The two formal public hearings are tonight and next week. <br />Main Conclusions <br />- Focus Residential Growth to the South <br />- Pull in Utility ServicelAnnexation Areas <br />- Take Advantage of Interstate Access <br />- Consider Growth Drivers to the South <br />- Encourage Mixed-Use Development <br />- Coordinate with Existing SE Rural Buffer <br />Map - Ghapel Hill/Carrboro Rural Buffer <br />Roger Waldon said that one of the key things to make this happen is to rethink the <br />interlacal agreements -how Hillsborough and Orange County are sharing interests in jurisdiction <br />in these areas. <br />Craig Benedict took aver the presentation at this point. He pointed out a map of the new <br />annexation boundary {shown in purple). Hillsborough is considering either abandoning or <br />exchanging some of the extraterritorial jurisdiction, which is in the Eno River Critical Area far new <br />extraterritorial jurisdiction in various sections within its existing limits. The orange area is a <br />Hillsborough transition area. He pointed out other parts of the map that would be part of the <br />interlocal agreement. <br />
