The <br /> duration of the individual calls varied from 18 minutes to 1-hour and 44 minutes, and for all 18 calls <br /> noted the average duration was 51 minutes. The "Available Units: 7" notation is the number of Medic <br /> Units on duty during the referenced 5-hour time frame. <br /> Note that during this five hour period there were three (3) instances where 6 of the 7 on duty <br /> ambulances were in service simultaneously; resulting in the circled number "1" referring to the last <br /> available ambulance. Subsequently, the remaining ambulance was in all likelihood directed to "move" <br /> to a location that would permit the most flexible response should another call come in before another <br /> ambulance was available. <br /> This scenario was found to occur many times during the review of the 2011 EMS call records. <br /> Solutions for Local Government,Inc. 25 <br />
