Steering Committee <br />to review public input and to recommend the final M,A,P, Report to BOCC <br />• Nov, 74, 2006 - BOCC to consider approval of the MAP Action Plan for 2007- 2077 <br />BOCC Input and Approval <br />^ Preliminary M.A.P. report outline that includes - <br />(1) Change in the Period Covered to 2007-2011 <br />(2) New Theme "Aging-Friendly Communities" <br />(3) A Bill of Rights statement for older persons <br />• Preliminary Goals, Objectives and Strategies for public review <br />Chair Jacobs said that he and Commissioner Gordon served on this steering committee, <br />and this is a very dedicated group. <br />Commissioner Gordon commended this group and said that she was glad to be a part of <br />it. <br />Commissioner Carey said that he liked the new title and the direction in which they are <br />moving. <br />Commissioner Carey made reference to goal C -Transit and Mobility -and haw the <br />elderly who have difficulty in getting around and haw their needs are going to be addressed in <br />times of emergency. He said that, with the hazard planning that is going on at the State level, <br />most of the planning and evacuations deal with the people in facilities very well. He asked <br />about those that are aging in their homes and how this plan addresses this group in <br />emergencies. <br />
