Attachment <br /> -Classification and Pay Plan Amendments 29 <br /> To amend the Orange County Classification and Pay Plan as provided below: <br /> 1. Establish the class of <br /> • Agricultural Economic Development Specialist at Salary Grade 70 <br /> ($34,703 - $55,180). <br /> The new position is part of the Fiscal Year 2001-02 budget. Its purpose is <br /> to build strong local markets for agricultural and value-added agricultural <br /> products. Also, the position will provide agricultural economic <br /> development assistance to farmers in developing business plans, <br /> retirement and estate plans, exploring brokering products to local markets, <br /> and discussing diversification possibilities, including financing options. <br /> 2. Change the class title and salary grade of: <br /> • Dental Program Coordinator at Salary Grade 66 ($28,552 - $45,396) to <br /> Dental Health Program Director at Salary Grade 70 ($34,703 - $55,180). <br /> The Fiscal Year 2001-02 budget provides for an increase in hours for this <br /> position from 30 hours to 40 hours. This increase in hours reflects <br /> additional responsibilities given this position as a result of delegations <br /> from the Dental Director. <br /> In conjunction with the increase in hours, Personnel has conducted a <br /> classification review of this position to take account of the new duties and <br /> responsibilities the position has assumed..The Dental Director has <br /> delegated the role of managing and organizing functions in the dental <br /> program to the Dental Program Coordinator, including planning and <br /> oversight to dental clinics on site and at community events; developing <br /> and administering the budget; supervision of staff; and coordination/ <br /> supervision of field training experiences for UNC School of Dentistry <br /> residents, dental hygienist and dental assistant students. <br /> Based on the classification review and in recognition of the position's <br /> increased responsibility for program management and supervision, it is <br /> recommended the class title and salary grade be changed as noted <br /> above. <br /> 3. The new or updated class specification for each of the above classification <br /> changes is attached. <br />
