ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: October 16, 2012 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 5-k <br /> SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2012 <br /> DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br /> ATTACHMENT (S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Donna Baker, 245-2130 <br /> Clerk to the Board <br /> PURPOSE: To consider one change to the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br /> for 2012. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br /> the Regular Meeting Schedule by: <br /> • Changing the location of the BOCC Quarterly Public Hearing meeting scheduled for <br /> Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7:00pm FROM the DSS Offices, 113 Mayo Street, TO the <br /> Central Orange Senior Center (Adjoining Triangle SportsPlex), 103 Meadowlands Drive, <br /> Hillsborough, N.C. (Dinner meeting with the Planning Board at 5:30pm will remain at Link <br /> Government Services Center). <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: In order to insure that the sound quality is adequate at the November 19, <br /> 2012 meeting, Asset Management Services will need to engage the services of Custom Light <br /> and Sound at a cost of approximately $500 (delivery, set-up and management of rental sound <br /> equipment). <br /> RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its regular meeting <br /> calendar for 2012 by: <br /> • Changing the location of the BOCC Quarterly Public Hearing meeting scheduled for <br /> Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7:00pm FROM the DSS Offices, 113 Mayo Street, TO the <br /> Central Orange Senior Center (Adjoining Triangle SportsPlex), 103 Meadowlands Drive, <br /> Hillsborough, N.C.
