Map of Proposed Efland Zoning Perdita Holtz, Planning Systems <br /> Overlay Districts Coordinator, 245-2578 <br /> Craig Benedict, Planning Director, 245- <br /> 2592 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider the legal advertisement for items to be presented at the joint Board of <br /> County Commissioners/Planning Board Quarterly Public Hearing scheduled for November 19, <br /> 2012. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners reviews proposals to be considered at <br /> public hearing for consistency with general County policy and presentation format. The <br /> following items are scheduled for the November 19, 2012 Quarterly Public Hearing: <br /> Countv Initiated: <br /> 1. 2030 Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text <br /> Amendments and Zoning Atlas Amendments. These amendments are proposed in order <br /> to establish two new zoning overlay districts in the Efland area (see map in <br /> Attachment 2 for locations). The proposed overlay districts are measures to implement <br /> some of the recommendations contained in the adopted Efland-Mebane Small Area <br /> Plan. <br /> A public information meeting ("open house" style) will be held on November 14 to give <br /> interested persons an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and speak with <br /> Planning staff inembers in small groups or on a one-to-one basis prior to the public <br /> hearing. <br /> 2. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment to modify and clarify existing <br /> regulations and definitions associated with the erection and use of outdoor lighting <br /> facilities. <br /> 3. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment to incorporate minor <br /> changes suggested by MuniCode as a result of MuniCode's legal review of the UDO. <br />
