In the coming year, our goal is to continue and enhance
this program. We plan to conduct 6 workshops with mosaic artist Jeannette Brossart in partnership with
6-10 Orange County organizations serving children in need. Our goal is to serve approximately 200
children or more with a focus on Orange County children from low-income backgrounds, English
Language Learners, children with special needs and those facing medical difficulties and other life
challenges. In 2012-13,we anticipate enhancing this program by engaging Ms. Brossart with the architect
team for Kidzu's new facility to explore options for integrating the children's mosaic panels into our new
museum. We also hope to deepen our new partnership with El Centro Hispanic and enhance services to
the Spanish-speaking community. If funded, this program will serve as a bridge between Kidzu's current
site and our new museum, expanding access to quality arts education for children in need, offering
important lessons about mosaic-making, allowing children to work with a professional artist, engaging
them in the creation of artwork for our new museum, and inviting children to help shape their community
children's museum.
