We were able to double our mosaic making participation this year with the same grant funding from OCAC,generous donations from our tile sponsor,energetic participation from our previous community groups,as well as several new community partners. I am so proud to have served the Orange County community in this way,and would very much like to see it continue to grow as the building and construction plans for the new Children's Museum continue to move forward. It was especially rewarding to revisit a few of our groups from the first grant cycle,namely UNC Hospital School and Hargraves Community Center and see the level of understanding and skill improvement with some of our veteran participants. Equally exciting this year was working with our new community partnerships and introducing more kids and families to mosaic art. 1 am eager to begin thinking and planning ahead for the myriad of ways the mosaics can be used for the new construction. Permanently showcasing this mosaic artwork for the new facility has always been one of the end goals of this program,reinforcing the importance of art in our community. I can't think of any better expression of this ideal than ensuring that the products of our young people's creativity are seen,experienced, and celebrated.
