PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES Kidzu Children's Museum,Chapel Hill,NC 2007-Present 2010–Present Curator of Exhibits Responsible for planning, organizing,and coordinating development of all indoor and outdoor exhibits for Kidzu's exapansion and current museum, from concept and design to fabrication and installation,ensuring that exhibits and the exhibit design process fully support museum's educational goals and vision.Oversee and monitor all tasks and timelines for grants supporting exhibit design and development during the master planning process. Serve as a liaison for exhibit consultants,exhibit designers,fabricators, and community members participating in designing and developing indoor and outdoor exhibits. Organize and lead outreach workshops and other educational programming to engage children in the design of the new facility. Supervise staff,volunteers and university interns in all matters related to current and future exhibits. 2007-2010 Exhibits Manager Oversee interactive, educational exhibits and related community programs for hands-on children's museum for children aged 0-8 years. Coordinated the process of planning,creating and installing the first original permanent exhibit,KidZoom: The Power of Creativity,at Kidzu's current location. Provided support to Kidzu's Exhibits Advisory Committee;serve as a liaison to all professional exhibit design and fabrication companies;work with local artists and craftspeople to integrate their work into exhibits and programs. Work with the Museum as they plan and pilot exhibit elements for the future expansion site. Managed permanent collection of over 8000 objects,attending to cataloguing and maintaining of departmental database,conservation and photography needs,public and scholarly inquiry; loans and acquisitions;research and publications. Worked as a liaison with various departments throughout the museum, including but not limited to Operations,Design,Education,Registrar's Office,and other curatorial departments. Managed the de-installation and reinstallation of entire Ancient Near Eastern collection as part of a major Museum capital project(1999),as well as several special exhibitions:Art of the First Cities: The Third Millennium B.C.from the Mediterranean to the Indus(2003); The Golden Deer of Eurasia: Scythian and Sarmatian Treasures from the Russian Steppes(2000);The Year One(2000). Trained docents/educators on site, designed educational web features,teacher packets and outreach opportunities, led gallery tours for grade school and university students, and supervised undergraduate and graduate students in the Museum Certificate Program.
