002 <br />The Clarion team has worked closely with County staff and a comprehensive set of stakeholder <br />groups in moving the project forward. The team’s design effort is grounded in both the BOCC- <br />adopted planning principles and the Chapel Hill 2020 plan as noted in Attachment 1,and the <br />team continues to meet with these various stakeholders of the project, including County <br />Departments, Advisory Boards, Utilities, and other regulatory officials. <br />The team has also assembled contextual, background, and technical informationrelevant to the <br />project in the form of meeting presentation slides as noted in Attachment 2.A current survey <br />has been prepared to validate many of the design opportunities and constraints. This survey <br />also includes significant tree specimens on the site. <br />The project outcomes have been based on this principled framework andthe extensive primary <br />feedback from the stakeholders as well as the technical information available on the site. Based <br />upon the feedback from the Board, the team will alsoconduct two public information sessions <br />on September 4, 2012 to provide information onthe status of this project. <br />The following table highlights key milestones for the project: <br />TASKPROPOSED END BY <br />BEGINNING DATE <br />DATE <br />Concept master plan presentation to the BOCC8/21/128/21/12 <br />Public information sessions to provide information on the status of the 9/4/129/4/12 <br />project <br />Project overview presented to the Town Board of Chapel Hill9/12/129/12/12 <br />Final master plandrafting9/13/1210/15/12 <br />Final master Plan approval by BOCC10/16/1210/16/12 <br />Chapel Hill Special Use Permit Modification Process11/1/1212/31/13 <br />(est.) <br />Members of the Clarion team will make a formal presentation on the progress of the project to <br />the Board and will be available to answer questions and respond toBoard discussion. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There is no financial impact associated with receiving the update and <br />providing feedback to staff and Clarion. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />The Manager recommends the Board: <br />receive the update on the status of the Southern Orange County Government Services <br />Campus master planning process; <br />provide feedback to staff on the merits of its alternative concept master plan designs; <br />and <br />recommend a single concept master plan for staffto 1) take to a Public Information <br />Session on September 4,and 2) develop into a final plan to be presented to the Board <br />for approval in October of 2012. <br /> <br />
