Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting <br />The Board recognized the staff of the Orange County Finance Department for earning <br />the Government Finance Officers' Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for <br />Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Fiscal year ending June 30, 2004. <br />John Link said that this is the 23rd straight year that the Finance Department has won <br />this award in preparing the audit each year. <br />Finance Director Ken Chavious said that most of his staff could not be here tonight and <br />he listed them. He thanked his staff and the County employees that are involved in the financial <br />operations. <br />Chair Carey asked the Board to consider moving 8-a next. <br />$. Public Hearings <br />a. Public Hearing on Initial Draft MapslPlans Related to Possible District <br />Elections for the Board of Commissioners <br />The Board conducted a public hearing on initial draft mapstplans related to Possible <br />District Elections for the Board of Commissioners; continued the Board's review of the draft <br />maps/plans and other associated materials related to possible District Elections for the Board of <br />Commissioners: and provided comments, questions, and any further direction to staff as <br />appropriate. <br />Geof Gledhill made a PowerPoint photo presentation, which included district maps and <br />narratives of the plans. The copies of the maps were provided and they are also available on <br />the County's website. <br />
