Cultural choreography <br /> hul Chetah/The Courler-Tribune <br /> Sonia Avila,right,and Brenda Gonzalez perform Jarabe Tapatio,commonly known as the Mexican Hat Dance,the <br /> national folk dance of Mexico,at Balfour Elementary School.They are members of Ballet Folklorico Mexico which <br /> visited Asheboro Friday for a cultural awareness program sponsored by the Randolph Arts Guild.The group also <br /> presented performancetworkshops for students at Teachey and McCrary schools and gave a performance for the <br /> public Friday evening.The troupe's presentation of authentic regional dances of Mexico was supported by a grant <br /> from the Southern Arts Federation and National Endowment for the Arts.Local supporters included Sara Lee Un- <br /> derwear/Hanes,the Asheboro Parks and Recreation Department and the N.C.Arts Council's Grassroots Arts Pro- <br /> gram. <br />
