The"Spoken Word Poetry <br /> Project"will be conducted within the school day for students at Phoenix as a part of their arts and English <br /> curriculum with the Sacrificial Poets or-ganization, and the guitar project will be implemented at Carrboro <br /> Elementary for low income students who do not have the opportunity to engage•in cultural arts activities <br /> outside of the school day. The teacher will provide 8-week after-school small group lessons throughout <br /> the year The project will fund the purchase of 6 acoustic 3/4 size guitars for the students and cases to <br /> protect them. <br />
