Festival Coordinator Bio
Gerry Williams returns in 2012 for his eleventh year as the Coordinator of The Carrboro
Music Festival. He was an initial member of the Carrboro Music Festival committee in
1997 and was then responsible for assembling the participating musicians. In 2002 he
was asked by Mayor Mike Nelson to take over full responsibility for the event and with
the able assistance of a volunteer committee and Carrboro's Recreation and Parks
Department, has steered the festival in an invigorating direction. Officials estimate that
10,000 attendees strolled throughout Carrboro's downtown in 2011 and enjoyed the
sights and sounds of 185 diverse performers at 25 venues.
