Exhibit B—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2012-13 <br /> Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification <br /> Funded Amount: $4,000.00 <br /> Agency: Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County <br /> Program: <br /> Orange County Historical Museum <br /> Public Education through Exhibits and Archives <br /> Heritage Education <br /> Website <br /> Purpose: <br /> Orange County's funding supports the operations of the Orange County Historical Museum,which <br /> is operated by the Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County.The Museum's <br /> primary expenditures are staff and occupancy. Ongoing programs supported by this grant include <br /> Public Education through Exhibits and Archives, Heritage Education and the Museum's website. <br /> The Museum interprets the history of Orange County for the benefit of all, and is open to the public <br /> free of charge, 6 days a week, year-round. The Museum interprets history through the creation and <br /> installation of permanent and special exhibits that are open to the public. The Museum's Heritage <br /> Education programs,both on-site and outreach, serve school-aged children in Orange County and <br /> throughout central North Carolina, and assist educator's goals by confoiniing to the North Carolina <br /> Standard Course of Study. The Museum maintains a website, Facebook page and a blog to reach <br /> visitors beyond the physical abilities of the Museum and share with them the research and history <br /> that the Museum stewards. The Museum protects and cares for unique and tangible pieces of <br /> Orange County history,including artifacts, documents, books,maps, and photographs and makes <br /> them available to researchers. <br /> The Museum serves Orange County residents of all ages, as well as visitors from other counties of <br /> North Carolina, different states of the U.S. and visitors from around the world. The Museum <br /> accomplishes these services through the work of a part-time Executive Director, paid front desk <br /> staff and volunteer efforts. <br /> Outcomes <br /> Program(1) Public Education through Exhibits and Archives <br /> 1. To reach and provide at least 8,025 visitors an educational opportunity through the use of the <br /> museum's exhibits and archives <br /> 2. To aide at least 25 researchers with their inquiries <br /> Program (2) Heritage Education <br /> 1. To reach and provide 3,000 school age children an interactive history learning experience. <br /> 2. To obtain a 10 % increase of Orange County children served by the Orange County Historical <br /> Museum. <br />
