We work closely with the transition staff and teachers in each high school to provide the service each student needs. This includes learning what work is and reasons that people work,good work habits, how to find and keep a job and how to decide what type job you want and can do well Methods for learning these include Job Club, visits from community employers,job shadowing at a variety of jobs and visits to different educational resources. We also assist students in performing both volunteer and paid work in their community. When the student completes school they have a plan for their next step. If they have decided to go directly to work they will have a job. When students have success through the transition program and see that they can reach their dreams they are more likely to remain in school. Funds will assist in paying for costs associated with staff salaries, transportation, materials, supplies and direct support services.
