Exhibit B—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2012-13 <br /> Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification <br /> Funded Amount: $20,000 <br /> Agency: Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina <br /> Program: Entre Familie <br /> Entre Familie is a culturally appropriate intervention that involves the entire family in <br /> addressing the issue of adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. This multi- <br /> faceted intervention includes a science-based intervention for teens, a series of parent <br /> workshops and educational workshops for young women on long-acting reversible <br /> contraception (LARC). <br /> Purpose <br /> To increase protective factors known to reduce pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections <br /> among Latino teens and young adults and narrow the disparity between adolescent pregnancy <br /> rates in the Latino teens and their non-Hispanic white counterparts in Orange County. <br /> Goal 1: Increase knowledge about pregnancy prevention and HIV/AIDS and improve <br /> prevention skills among Latino youth in Orange County. <br /> Goal 2: Increase parent confidence and skills in talking with their children of all ages about <br /> sexuality issues including puberty, preventing unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted <br /> infections/HIV and healthy relationships. <br /> Goal 3: Increase awareness of the advantages and availability of long-acting reversible <br /> contraceptives (LARC) among young Latina women. <br /> Outcomes <br /> 1. PPCNC will provide training to at least 40 Latinos teens with the Cuidate curriculum. <br /> 2. PPCNC will reach at least 30 Latino parents through workshops designed provide them <br /> with accurate information about sexual and reproductive health and how to talk to their <br /> children about it. <br /> 3. PPCNC will host 2 to 4 1.5-hour long workshops to educate young Latina women (18- <br /> 29) on LARC. <br /> • Through pre- and post-testing, all Cuidate participants will demonstrate at least a <br /> 10% increase in knowledge about prevention pregnancy and HIV. <br /> • Using patient feedback surveys, at least 75% of parents will report increased comfort in <br /> talking with their kids about sexuality issues. <br /> • At least 75% of parents will report they intend to talk to their children about sex as a <br /> result of the workshop. <br /> • At least 75% of LARC participants will report an understanding of their risk of <br /> pregnancy and have a plan for preventing unintended pregnancies. <br />
