Work includes planning, developing, <br /> implementing and maintaining a county-wide emergency response plan that addresses <br /> mitigation, response and recovery; coordinating and managing the emergency operations <br /> center during a disaster; and consulting with nursing homes, hospitals, schools, etc. on <br /> effective response and recovery plans. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and county <br /> policies and regulations in disaster planning and response, and hazardous waste <br /> management. Make decisions quickly and accurately in emergency situations and <br /> communicate in a tactful and diplomatic manner when dealing with the public. While in <br /> the position, oversaw the update of the Emergency Operations Plan, Hazard Mitigation <br /> Plan, Continuity of Operations Plan, development of a Points of Distribution Plan. <br /> Coordinated efforts to establish a Damage Assessment Response Team and County <br /> Community Emergency Response Teams.
