WHEREAS, Orange County has submitted a Priority List of Transportation Projects for <br />inclusion in the 2006 - 2012 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP); and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has considered the Priority <br />Lists submitted by local jurisdictions in the development of the 2006 - 2012 State <br />Transportation Improvement Program (STIP}, and has released the Draft 2006 - 2012 STIP for <br />public comment; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners that the Board submit the attached comments to the North Carolina Department <br />of Transportation for consideration by the North Carolina Board of Transportation when adopting <br />the 2006 - 2012 State Transportation Improvement Program. <br />A RESOLUTION PROVIDING COMMENTS TO THE DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL-CARRBORO <br />TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE DRAFT 2006 -2012 <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has considered the <br />Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization's (DCHC MPO) Priority List <br />for the 2006 -2012 State Transportation Improvement Program {STIP}, and has released the <br />Draft 2006 -2012 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) far public comment; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County, as a member of the DCHC MPO, has participated in the <br />development of the Durham-Chapel Hill- Carrboro (DCHC) Metropolitan Priority List for the 2006 <br />-2012 STIP; and <br />WHEREAS, the DCHC MPO Transportation Advisory Committee {TAC) is charged with <br />the development of the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP), which is <br />consistent with the STIP: and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County may offer additional comments on this draft Transportation <br />Improvement Program at a later date; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners that the Board submit the attached comments to the DCHC Transportation <br />Advisory Committee to be considered in the development of the final 2006 -2012 DCHC <br />Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program. <br />VOTE:UNANIMOUS <br />d. Resolution -Opposition to Proposed Budget Reductions to Criminal Justice <br />Programs <br />The Board considered approving a resolution in opposition to the proposed NC Senate <br />budget reductions for Criminal Justice Programs with all BOCC members signing the resolution, <br />and instructing the Clerk to forward copies to Orange County's legislative delegation. <br />
