Bill Strom said that on May 23`d at 1 Q:QQ a.m., the people that have been invited to <br />submit proposals for re-development projects an parking lot #5 will be making presentations to <br />the council and the public. <br />Jim V1Jard made reference to Twin Creeks and Southern Park and asked if there was any <br />thought of putting the infrastructure in for reclaimed water. <br />Chapel Hill Town Manager Cal Horton said that this has not been considered for <br />Southern Park. Commissioner Gordon said that it sounds like a reasonable suggestion. <br />Discussion ensued about the potential use of water at Southern Park. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that there has been a lot of speculation about which Chapel <br />Hill buildings might be sold. She asked about the status of this. <br />Mayor Fay said that Chapel Hill had a work session and there is no interest in selling the <br />three buildings -the post office, the museum, and the Community House. There have not been <br />any decisions on the future use of the buildings. <br />D. Carrboro <br />1 j Park Projects <br />Jacquelyn Gist said that there was a lot of community input on the new parks master <br />plan. There is more information on the Town's website. <br />Carrboro is also planning a summer reading program. The Cybrary will be involved as <br />well as some UNC representatives. <br />Commissioner Jacobs asked about the plans for the Adams Tract. Jacquelyn Gist said <br />that they are not putting afive-story building in there or a through road. They are going to name <br />a portion of the creek in honor of Dave Otter's daughters. <br />2) Others <br />Chair Carey said that the jurisdictions would be hearing mare in the coming months <br />about the joint ten-year plan to end homelessness in Orange County. The plan will be coming <br />together early next year. <br />Sally Greene said that this Saturday at 9:QQ a.m., the second roundtable session will <br />take place at New Hope Elementary School. <br />Chair Carey said that the jurisdictions will be asked to participate with small amounts of <br />funding far this plan. <br />Chair Carey introduced Commissioner Foushee as the newest County Commissioner. <br />Commissioner Foushee said that, after hearing about the reclamation of water, she does <br />see an opportunity far the CHCCS with Recreation and Parks to talk about this in terms of the <br />school site. CHCCS has used reclaimed water in the last two schools that were built. <br />Joal Hall Braun said that the third high school has a lot of water reclamation features. <br />Bill Strom said that the stormwater at Southern Park is to be used for irrigating fields. <br />Regarding the Adams Tract, he said that Chapel Hill is in the process of hiring an engineer to <br />come up with a concept plan for the Upper Bolin Greenway, which would make its way towards <br />the Adams Tract. <br />E. Rotation of Assembly of Governments Meeting Planning <br />Joal Hall Braun volunteered the Town of Carrboro to host a meeting before she leaves <br />the board, and she will talk to her board about this. She said that Diana McDuffie, who could <br />not be here tonight, would like to see items on the AOG agenda that relate to all jurisdictions, <br />(i.e. affordable housing, traffic, making requests to state legislators, etc.). She said that <br />Carrboro would like to see results from these meetings. <br />Chair Carey said that this body is not intended to be adecision-making group. He said <br />that Orange County would accept Carrboro's hosting a meeting. <br />
