Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule <br /> The Board considered one change to the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br /> for the year 2005. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br /> approve amending the BOCC regular meeting calendar by adding a closed session on <br /> Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 5:30 pm at the Government Services Center, 200 South Cameron <br /> Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina, for the County Attorney's annual evaluation (prior to the 7:30 <br /> p.m. Work Session at the Government Services Center). <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 4. Application for Grant from the Federal Farm and Ranch Land Protection Program for <br /> Agricultural Conservation Easements <br /> The Board considered authorizing staff to submit a grant application to the US Department <br /> of Agriculture's Farm and Ranch Land Protection Program for the purchase of farmland <br /> preservation conservation easements in Orange County, in an amount to be determined, not to <br /> exceed $800,000. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Foushee to <br /> approve authorizing the County Manager to submit a grant application to the Federal Farm and <br /> Ranch Land Protection Program in an amount to be defined but not to exceed $800,000 prior to <br /> the April 4th deadline, with County matching funds to come from alternative financing for <br /> conservation easements. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 5.
