This item <br />was heard at the March 29, 2012 joint public hearing (Orange County BOCC and Town of Chapel <br />Hill Council). <br />Presenter: Perdita Holtz, Planner III <br />Perdita Holtz: The JPA process is different in that the public hearing before the elected officials already occurred on <br />March 29. This action is also only on the rezoning. Part of this larger project involves a Special Use Permit which is not <br />acted on by the County, just by the Town of Chapel Hill so we are only considering whether these 20.9 acres should be <br />rezoned. I asked the project applicant to attend this meeting to do a brief PowerPoint presentation. Gloria Shealey and <br />George Williams are here tonight to talk more about the project. <br />Gloria Shealey: I am the president of the Daniel Company. The church brought our company in to be the program <br />manager for this site. We would like to give you a brief overview of what the development intent is for the site and why <br />there is a need for rezoning. I also have George Williams who is the design architect and Pastor Nixon, who is the Pastor <br />of St. Paul AME church located in Chapel Hill. Ms. Shealey presented a PowerPoint presentation of the site plan. <br />18 <br />
