She said that the County is not addressing women's issues significantly. <br />Women make up 50°~ of the population and the County has not made significant progress. She <br />feels strongly that there needs to be an entire position devoted to women's issues. She said <br />that the 15 hours a week is not adequate. <br />Commissioner Halkiotis said that he thinks there is a focus for women an the staff, and <br />he respectfully disagreed with Commissioner Gordon. He thinks the staff should keep the <br />Board pasted with respect to what they are doing for women. He thinks the department is doing <br />a good job. <br />Commissioner Carey commended the staff an a jab well done also and said that he has <br />noticed the improvement. He thinks that when there is a team approach to addressing the <br />needs of all the populations, including women, there should be mare than 40 hours devoted <br />women's issues. Commissioner Gordon said she agreed there should be more than 40 hours <br />per week devoted to women's issues. <br />John Link will come back and respond to the comments made. <br />11.
