Health Department <br />The Health Department has received notification from the N.C. Department of Health and <br />Human Services of additional allocation of funds for the following programs. No additional <br />County funds are required for the receipt of these funds. (see column #1, Attachment 1) <br />• Food and Lodging State Grant — Funds totaling $3,999 provide additional training <br />funds for Environmental Health staff members. <br />• Health Promotion — Additional funds totaling $5,000 to offset costs of translating and <br />printing the departmental brochure, 'Women's Health Passport" in Spanish. <br />• TB /Epidemiology State funds — Additional $2,826 to purchase equipment. The <br />equipment, including nebulizers to assist patients with respiratory problems and a lap top <br />computer, will enable field staff to access patient information when in the field or after <br />hours. <br />• Smart Start Dental Project — Additional <br />educational supplies used in association <br />care children. (see Attachment 2) <br />State funds totaling $5,000 to offset costs of <br />with "Tooth Time Kits" provided to area day <br />• Healthy Carolinians —Receipt of State grant funds totaling $10,000 to offset a portion of <br />the permanent staff in the Healthy Carolinians program. These funds bring the current <br />budget for this project to $31,597. <br />
