Countv Annual Operating Budget Decisions/Approval of Resolution of Intent to Adopt the <br />2Q04-05 Countv Annual Operating Budget Chair Jacobs said that he will go through each <br />position and the BOCC can let him know if there are any concerns: <br />Operating Budget Decision Paint 1: New Positions for 2Q04-05 <br />Cooperative Extension: <br />• Community Health Aide (Breastfeeding program} One of these positions disappeared <br />from the County and is now part of the WIC program through Piedmont Health. <br />YES <br />• 2 program assistants for EFNEP <br />YES <br />Emergency Management Positions: <br />• Paramedic <br />Chair Jacobs would like to wait until the County gets a new EMS Director before pursuing this <br />position so that the Director can make recommendations to the structure of the department. <br />Commissioner Halkiotis agreed with this. He asked for the timeline in filling the Director's <br />position and John Link said that they hope to have it filled by the end of the calendar year. <br />John Link asked if some reasonable amount of money could be reserved for the position, in <br />case the new Director still sees a need for it. Chair Jacobs said to wait to see what the Director <br />thinks. <br />'Not at this time` <br />Health Department: <br />• Billing Accountant Technician 1 <br />Commissioner Brown asked who was paying for this and Donna Dean said that it is paying for <br />itself through a collections piece and a re-billing of Medicaid for next year. <br />YES <br />• Dental Assistant <br />Chair Jacobs said this is also partially paid for by increased patient visits. <br />YES <br />Information Systems: <br />• Web Application Developer <br />Commissioner Halkiotis asked to hold off on this position and Chair Jacobs agreed. Chair <br />Jacobs said that they could revisit it at the first of the year. He thinks that they could phase in <br />Information Technology spending. <br />'Not at this time's <br />
