APPROVED 10105/2004 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISISONERS BUDGET WORK SESSION AGENDA June 21, 2004 Continuation of June 17, 2004 Budget Work Session 6:OOpm and June 21St Budget Work Session 7:30pm The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Budget Work Session on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. as a continuation meeting of the June 17, 2004 Budget Work Session at the Southern Human Services Center, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Board convened the regular Work Session at 7:50 pm. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners Margaret W. Brown, Moses Carey, Jr., Alice M. Gordon, and Stephen Halkiotis COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., Assistant County Managers Rod Visser and Gwen Harvey and Clerk to the Board Donna S. Continuation of June 17, 2001 Board of County Commissioners Budget Work Session- 6:OOpm 1. Chair Review of Schedule and Topics Chair Jacobs made reference to the handouts at their places and asked the Manager to review the timeframes for addressing them. John Link suggested starting with the Annual Operating Budget. The working document is the aqua-colored sheet, which has the major decision points for the operating budget. There are some attachments the staff would refer to as part of the operating budget. The yellow sheet responds to the question about the fees for reserving picnic shelters. Paul Laughton researched this issue and found that there was a discussion about these fees during the work sessions, but it is unclear whether there was a decision. The Manager is recommending deleting any reference to fees for picnic shelters in the fee schedule. The Board will address this issue in early fall. Jahn Link pointed out additional attachments.
