County of Orange, NC
Waste Tracking and Tracking Reports
RFP #5183
At the moment a truck with waste is first unloaded for initial storage
and transfer at our Reidsville Service Center, Clean Harbors assigns
to each waste container a unique tracking number. This number is
printed on labels as corresponding bar codes and attached to each
drum.
Every time the containers are moved, whether from truck to truck or
from one location to another in a facility, the bar code labels are
scanned and the data is uploaded into our Waste Information
Network ("WIN').
Drums and/or boxes that are bulked/consolidated into larger
containers (i.e. tanks, roll offs, etc.) are also noted in WIN; and a
new tracking number is created that lists all the original numbers.
Regardless of where the material is shipped, WIN will have the ability to generate quarterly
reports mapping the path that Orange County's waste took from pickup to disposal.
These Waste Tracking Reports will include a signed Certificate of Disposal, and will indicate:
♦ The manifest number(s)
♦ Each container's tracking number
♦ The new tracking number if bulked
UNACCPETABLE WASTES
♦ The final disposal facility
♦ The waste management method code
♦ The date of final disposal/recycling
Clean Harbors will accept for transportation and disposal the majority of hazardous waste
typically produced by households. We reserve the right to refuse any waste deemed unsafe to
handle or unsuitable for the collection including:
19 Large quantities of unknown materials
R Radioactive waste, including smoke detectors
17 Explosives, gun powder, flares, ammunition
17 Unstable wastes
19 Unknown gas cylinders
9 Substances regulated by the Drug Enforcement Agency
19 Bio- hazardous Waste, Infectious Waste, Needles / Syringes
If the above listed unacceptable wastes are unintentionally received, Clean Harbors will work
with the County to provide safe disposal of the materials. Our proposal does not include pricing
for handling these wastes. Pricing will be provided as needed on a case -by -case basis.
Company Confidential 29 www.cleanharbors.com
