County of Orange, NC RFP #5183
marked to indicate that it is a partial. The onsite manager will package and containerize as much
as possible during normal work activities between customer participation. Partial containers will
be placed into storage at each site separately from full containers in such a way as to be easily
accessible for the next collection day.
All collection sites will be tied up to their pre -event condition; after which our crews will then
perform an inspection. Data from the inspection includes:
0 Ensuring that nothing was missed while straightening up the Facility
0 Recording the number of full and partial containers, and any County- required data
® Recording the amount of supplies used and checking to see if any are running low and
need replenishing
Manifesting, Loading, and Transportation
As household hazardous waste is packaged, the Project Manager will enter the contents being
packed, container size, etc. into the Waste Inventory System on their laptop computer. When
full, the containers will be sealed, labeled and removed from the packing area. He /She will
either move the containers to their appropriate storage area.
Clean Harbors will prepare all shipping paperwork in accordance with Federal, State and Local
regulations. Information entered into the Waste Inventory System generates computer - printouts
of container packing lists; as well as prints manifests, bills of lading, and container labels on -site.
The benefits of computer - generated paperwork created at the time of packing are obvious:
0 Easier to read paperwork results in reduced manifest piece count and /or invoice errors,
and is preferred by regulatory inspectors
0 Reduces or eliminates manifests cross -outs and /or write -ins
Depending on each week's container volumes in storage at the collection facilities, Clean
Harbors will either dispatch a 10 -wheel box truck that is capable of hauling approximately forty
55- gallon drums; or will dispatch a tractor with van trailer for larger loads. Prior to loading
waste, the van is first unloaded of drums, boxes, and other supplies that are brought in to
replenish the each collection facility's stock.
Company Confidential 26 www.cleanharbors.com
