23 <br />Hillsborough Area Economic Development District <br />The Hillsborough Area Economic Development District (EDD) encompasses all <br />four corners of a major interstate interchange of 1 -40 and Old NC 86 south of <br />Hillsborough. In addition, there are parts of the Hillsborough Area EDD that are <br />along NC 86 and 1 -85. The area of 832 ±acres within Orange County's <br />jurisdiction at this time is distributed among the principal land use categories in <br />the schematic plan as follows.
