;j <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br />April 22 -28, 2001 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />and the National Association of Counties have urged citizens <br />across the state and the nation to learn more about county <br />government's role in our lives; and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County government has served the citizens of the <br />County since 1752 and places its emphasis on addressing <br />citizens' concerns and needs; and <br />WHEREAS, The elected and appointed officials of Orange County take <br />pride in serving the citizens in the County and ensuring that <br />each citizen knows he or she counts; and <br />WHEREAS, County government provides a wide range of services <br />including public safety, community planning, and human <br />services, which have a direct impact on citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, Citizens may learn about county services and resources <br />through outreach efforts provided by County officials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, we the Orange County Board of Commissioners do hereby <br />proclaim the week of April 22 -28, 2001 as Orange County Government Week, <br />and further encourage all citizens to become familiar with the services provided <br />by Orange County Government. <br />This, the third day of April 2001. <br />Stephen H.
