Proposed Changes to Personnel Ordinance <br />•Revisions to the Personnel Ordinance are required to implement any changes to retiree health <br />benefits. Attachment 3 is the proposed Amendment to Article IV, Section 28 which would affect <br />new employees hired on or after July 1, 2012, by increasing the years of Orange County service <br />required for retiree health insurance for employees hired on or after July 1, 2012 and requiring <br />those eligible for Medicare to enroll in Medicare and receive Medicare benefits. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Appendix A of the Manager's Recommended Budget includes <br />information about the estimated costs of various pay and benefits options. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss employee pay <br />and benefits for FY 2012 -13 and provide direction to staff. <br />• <br />41 <br />
