r7 �. <br />3 <br />,e %:- s - Zoo / - c05',-Z 5 <br />ORA.INGE COUN'T'Y BOARD OF COMAIISSIO.N -ERS <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR CO-MMUNITY <br />DENTELOPAIENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS <br />NVIIEREAS, the County was notified by the N.C. Department of Commerce — <br />Division of Community Assistannce of the award of S400,000 in Scattered Site 1-lous111g <br />Rehabilitations funds under the FY 2001 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />Program; and <br />'WHEREAS, an application for funding must be sent to the Division of <br />Community Assistance on or before March 30, 2001 in order to receive the funds; and <br />WHEREAS, grant finds inust be used to repair substandard housing in the <br />Towns of Carrboro, l-iillsborough, and unincorporated Orange County; and <br />'WHEREAS, these towns have expressed an interest in participating in this <br />grog am '.N -ith the County; and <br />WHEREAS, there is agreement that this program will operate as an extension of <br />the current HOME funded Orange County 'llousing Rehabilitation Program utilizing its <br />%vaiting lists and program ehgibility guidelunes; <br />NOIN', THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners,_ that an application for F1' 2001 Scattered Site llonising Program grant <br />funds under the North Carolina Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds <br />is hereby authorized. The finds requested will be used to repair approxiulaately fourteen <br />(14) substandard d- %yelling units in the To,,vns of Carrboro. I-lillsborough, and <br />unincorporated Orange County. The amount of the request will be S400,000. The <br />;application Nvill be submitted on or about March 3D, 2001. <br />FURTHER, the Orange County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Chair of <br />the Board to sign the application document on the County's behalf <br />This the 20')' day of March 2001. <br />
